The Lay Readers of St. John's Parish Church Entebbe, are dedicated servants who partner with the clergy in advancing the mission of the Church through faithful teaching, leadership, and pastoral support. Their ministry reflects the Anglican tradition of equipping committed lay leaders to proclaim God's Word and strengthen the spiritual life of the congregation.
Lay Readers assist in leading worship services, reading Scripture, preaching when called upon, teaching Bible studies, leading prayers, visiting the sick and elderly, and encouraging believers in their daily walk with Christ. They also support the administration of church programmes and contribute to the smooth running of parish ministries and events.
Beyond their visible responsibilities during worship, Lay Readers serve as ambassadors of Christ within the church and the wider community. Through lives marked by integrity, humility, and faithful service, they encourage others to grow in discipleship and actively participate in the life of the Church.
